Rags if you want to get a good idea of what the average person thinks just have a look at the TV or news paper most adds offer better deal cheaper price interest free terms you will never see quality come into it hardly ever see made in OZ as a selling point people just dont care all they think about is the hip pocket .My grand father always said the most important thing there was a fair deal for everyone as this topic suggests a sign of the times not always a good sign !!!!!! seeya

heard on the radio today, Shell or Royal Dutch Shell to give it the full title is getting ready to offload its petrol stations too. The refinery at Geelong has been on the market for 12mths or so. Maybe its ripe for Coles to step in and become a petrol retailer in its own right???
We live in interesting times!

What we need are US style Anti-Trust laws to stop Coles and similar from taking control of our Groceries, Fuel, Insurance and Hardware.
Yep they own em all!
As long as we allow Corporations to grow bigger and absorb smaller players then force the left over small players out we won't have any option but pay the big guy's prices once they have control of the market.

Looks like we might have some new drivers to induct when Toll starts turning up!
I always used to say a good looking truck was the sign of a good operator. Cootes in WA always looked great so, rightly or wrongly, I assumed they were a good bunch. The trucks coming here to site started looking ratty early last year. A bit of 20/20 hindsight but...
...plus I know some blokes with scruffy trucks who are the best! Mind you, there's a difference between scruffy and not maintained.

OMG
What an unlikely forum to read a series of Post's that have at their heart,
A desire to live in a fair, just and civil society.
Are we beginning to see [even on this forum] that a civil society is not just about grabbing every thing we can for our own materialist advantage?
I detect the whiff of a discussion about the excessive rat baggery of our monopolistic, hard ball playing, over the top and out of control "market driven economy".
Bless us all.
There is hope yet.
