Well, seeing this posting is from you Sarge, and your mates with Blacksmith Pete, then it's gotta be from Petes Volvo with a stuffed up rear spring.

How close is that then ?

The spring appears to have been broken for a long time, so does one end of the U bolt... The centre bolt... they key to all the breakage was broken too and from what we are told it probably went first. then the spring then the u bolt, the last side went with a bang, Pete thought he had blown a tyre, heaps of smoke... only damabe apart from the picture was the tyre rubbed on some cable conduit causing the smoke.

His spare parts Volvo has a Hendrickson rear end so no good this time, he slipped in a block of wood and limped into Echuca for me to collect him and for a local bloke to do some damage to his hip pocket.

He still made it to the Brisbane show where he is hard at work, Blacksmithing as we chat....

My mis spent youth often involved breaking down in or rescuing broken down trucks... I enjoyed this change from routine... thanks Pete.

Its lucky he is that big, he was able to lift the truck up and slip the wood block in.... we should encourage him to come to Sandown and bring his amazing self loading container with him.... he could perhaps bring the Volvo too...

Well Sarge,I went to the show on Sunday,I was keeping a bit of an eye out for blacksmiths but I could see none,after a few hours I had 4 kids wanting to go to the showbag pavillion so we could go home.I didn`t spot him there either.
