Big, ancient iron constructions with big iron vehicles but it all works, in its own way - that's Russia for ya.
Some more working primitivity here:
and the most impressive:
full throttle, no halfway positions...
In a way, Russia is a mirror image of Oz, only on the outback, you can freeze to death if you're not careful

There's a new version which complies with all the latest Russian EPA regs:
The only thing I can say is these use two stroke opposed piston engines AND heavy oil - probably the best smoke convertors you could ask for. In case the spec sounds familiar, yes, they're copies of the old US Fairbanks-Morse engines of the 1940s and the 1950s, but obviously more successful than the originals.
The Russians also copied the DD 6-71 and 4-71 and then the Cummins V8 and V6... Again, made more of these things than Cummins
