QRTT...the Quick Release TurnTable

I've managed to study a couple of early greasy plate quick release turntables over the last week, and by all accounts they used the original style boss and bushed cup of the earlier type, but with the QRTT simply welded to the upper plate.... with these couple of set-ups still U bolted in the old fashioned way to the chassis frame and having the centre bolt/spring and big nut....

...the turntable "block", or some way of the bottom or top being fixed would've come into some sort of prominence when this arrangement started I guess ??...

boomerange engineering in perth have had a turntable which was a 1" plate design quick release they have hade it for a very long time ( as long as I have been around) I rang them today to find out how long and they will get back to me in the next couple of days,,,, I will Post when I find out

Hi Again all, boomerange engineering started to make there turntable in 1971 (I thought it was earlier than that) the plate design is the same as the Khitch which is in fact taken from the boomerang (registered paten must of run out or never had a paten in the first place)
but any way that's my thruppence worth
