The Mack branded ones (but with the Renault logo) did go to Canberra. MTA got the contract to supply chassis and bodies (built by Ansair) at the time when anything French was politically on the nose due to the Pacific Island nuclear testing and the Rainbow Warrior incident.

Perth had a later batch with Renault badging. Sydney Buses also had just two, but these got standard PMC bodies, rather than the factory fronts.

The DMR/RTA had one in Sydney in the early 70s. It was bonnetted, LHD, and had equipment on board for surveying road surfaces.



Wasn't this one was it ? Spotted a few years ago here in Tassie

Very similar, if not the same vehicle. In Sydney, it was in DMR orange paint.
