Hi Swishy and AW

I can see your point for a public show, but that isn't what this was.

It was a private show organised by a private guy (Boof Wedding, a transport contractor) on his own land and attendance was by invitation only. He provided free beer, free food and a fantastic show of fantastic trucks. I don't really think he had any obligation to provide us truckies who had the honour of getting invited with merry-go-rounds as well. :D :D :D

Most of the trucks were going to be there for the full time, but quite a number (although a small percentage) are still working trucks and the owners probably couldn't afford to have them off the road for 3 days so some were there for Sat and Sun, or Sun and Mon or maybe only for one of the days. Better than not being there at all I think.

Cheers, Vic

A few more from Boof Wedding's show this weekend. Although I have only posted photos of a few of the trucks. you Aussies might have noticed one big difference between the ones here and the ones on your side of the ditch. There is a complete absence of B model Macks :'( :'( :'(

They were never imported into NZ although there is one in Bill Richardson's museum; I think we make up for it (well maybe :) :) :)) with the large number of R190 etc Internationals.

Great photos Vic, looks like there are some great old trucks hanging around the North Island. You may not have got B model Macks but did get Inters we didnt get out here. eg The Fleetstar, Paystar and that modern day cabover 9800.

Hi Cam

It was the first Mack built in NZ and was restored by the apprentices at Truck Stops/Motor Truck Distributors. They did a great job of it, too.

I hope you noticed I put a few White photos there for you!

Stupendous stuff, Vic! Almost fell off my chair when I saw the Hayes. Wow. Bloody nice LAD Comet (?) too. You guys have a great selection of LAD and Ergo-cabbed Leylands.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
