New Model Cat Engine was created by Lang
Bloke in Dalby has this for sale for $700. Nice 460hp engine running well with gearbox.

Looks like a petrol engine to me , from memoryC 15s and C 16s they had 3 heads on them... and were diesel , has he sold it yet ... lol.

No mate I think you are wrong. Apart from starting engines I don't think Cat were big on petrol. You can see it is direct injection diesel. The blue painted fuel lines can be seen running from the fuel pump directly to the injectors.

Yeah....at 460 hp I think the old 5 main bearings would be a bit stressed.....but then again Cat was the master of the "bearing roll".

You can buy a 3406T for about that money.......wont fit in a Valiant tho.

Lang Cat made really big petrol motors, bigger than you would find in a D7 but not quite D8 size
They made these up until the late 30's
Even before Caterpillar was about the two companies that formed Caterpillar, Best and Holt only made petrol
