You blokes have either far too much time on your hands, OR, you've been sneaking into my "stash" in the garage!

You fellers have been talking about "water to diesel" and "diesel to petrol," Why not cut out profit for fuel Companies and Water Boards and built a fantasmasgorical device to convert air to petrol, mount it under the tray and have free fuel for ever?:woohoo:

Don't ask me how, I have given you the idea, you work out the details. Don't say it is impossible, Grock told the other cavemen that round wheels would never work.

It is only 9 o'clock in the morning, I have NOT been on the "happy sauce."
:P

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Back in 1827 the Stirling brothers patented the hot air engine. These merely need a heat source and can produce considerable power very cheaply. Many large stationary engines right up to the 1930's used the Stirling hot air principle.

Morris you idea has much merit. All we need do is collect the hot air from the various parliaments, Green meetings, public service conferences, protest meetings, TV and Movie awards etc, the list is endless. Insulated tankers running free on the hot air collected could distribute to service stations and we could all run for nothing.

Hold on! I just worked out that, no matter the volume of hot air produced, what these non-productive activities cost us in wages, lost time and roadblocks on the path of progress would make fossil fuels look like they were being sold at give-away prices.

Will have to think of another idea.

Lang, all we would have to do would be put a big tent over Canberra, put a pipe at the top and collect enough hot air to power the world.

I have just noticed the fuel filter bowl, looks like diesel in it

Thanks for the proof of my assumptions. Blows those naysers talking about petrol out of the water.

Lang I believe Cat devised this engine in collaboration with Detroit Diesel. You can tell the Detroit ones by the 4/71 blower and the GM green colour

I see the GM blower engines painted the injector fuel lines black instead of blue.

Morris, would this new air to fuel converter require a big air cleaner?

Just want to converge two threads.

Blower driven by a single V belt would be pretty effective too.......some Allis Chalmers graders had a supercharger driven by v belts ,about 6 from memory.

JK, single belt works the same as blow off valve, too much boost and slips limiting the booster. bit hard on the belts though, replace with each oil change.
