Coil? Thought that was the electric lift pump for the injection pump

Further investigation reveals all the electrical connections on the bottom of the photo are part of the electronic engine control system regulating the performance. As mentioned above the round object with a fuel line to the injector pump is a lift pump. Mammoth is correct it is a "coil pump" similar to a screw pump. The name comes from situation where it fails and you are screwed.

I have a yellow 308 "known as a 3(2)08" in my WB ute. It was a mate's idea, he said "while it's out, paint it yellow and put Caterpillar stickers on it!", so i did.........

Lang I haven't been convinced that is what you say but who am I to doubt you, its not April fool day is it :dry: :dry: I have just noticed the fuel filter bowl, looks like diesel in it :blush: :blush: :oops: :oops:

It's obvious that this conversion was not easy, going by the amount of extra wiring and number of relays required. Probably has a massive Cracking plant in the back to convert the water to diesel.

Lang If "wee-allis" is correct then maybe, just maybe it has another conversion plant to convert diesel to petrol:dry: :(
