Some where on here we was all talking about gear boxes and splitting them, and I mentioned making up a set of rails to help align and keep things simple
Yes it is a tractor but the same type of thing can be used for trucks cars or tractors
Chuck some ply underneath and you cam use it on dirt, gravel or anywhere as long as it is reasonably level

We used a similar idea for greasing/ checking trailer wheel bearings.
Jack up both sides then lower the set you’re working on onto the patented trolley device on rails.
Up/ down the other side so axle stays level.
Undo the bearing retainer then just roll out the wheels, brake drum the lot without damaging the seal.

Scout was the man, I am sure he is beavering away as we speak making his own railway..... getting enough room under the D Line will be an added problem......

I have one similar to Paul's. I bought this one at a workshop sale about 4 years ago. It was sold as being for splitting tractors but I think it may be for removing gearboxes. I have never seen another one like it, the whole top section rises on 4 legs. The old screw jack will be replaced by an air over hydraulic jack .
