Hi.
Contemplating building a Dodge 359 (As one option).
Does anyone have any specifications sheets / info, particularly around axles and axle masses, Engine and gearbox options, wheel and tyre options etc.
Probably end up on Vic club plates and I want to know what I have available that is an option and not a modification.
Cheers

Hello Dr Project, welcome to the forum.
I don't know what model a 359 is but there are plenty of International or Dodge remains here at Bass, near Phillip Island in Victoria. There is a Dodge? v8 that runs and lots of other trucks., all are for sale at low prices. If you are interested let me know and I will ask the owner for details in a week or so because we are too busy extending his shed at the moment.
There are only so many trucks you can fit on 2.4 acres!

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

From my 1959 Police issued "List of Makes & Models of Motor Vehicles, Part 2 - Motor Lorries, Tractors & Plant"

Listings for 1953 to 198 are the same as the 1958 listing ... seems they only changed in 1959

Those weights are in the good old units too ;)

Hi there, I used to own a 1960 359D and still have a genuine Chrysler sales brochure and a workshop manual (dated 1953) if you are interested....... basically, mechanically speaking there were few if any changes in the running gear but the cab went from split screen in 55 to a one piece screen . There were four different front clips
from the A to D models, the only engine offered in the 359 was the s/v 250.6 cu in , with (I think) a small horsepower increase in the D model. The '359' means 3 ton, 159 inch wheelbase........ hope this is of interest.
