Ok, I have a curly one here.......what was originally thought to be a Morris bonnet mascot, bought at an online auction years ago, has turned out to not be what it was advertised as.
That doesn't bother me because I bought it to grace the front of a vintage class open wheeler race car that Dad Phill and I muck around with and take to Winton once a year.
I am curious what it was originally on however, and was wondering if any of you knowledgeable folk out there have a clue what it came from?
I have contacted a couple of Morris Register Clubs and all have said that it is most definitely not a Morris item, so the search continues......

The first two pictures are from the auction listing, and the third picture is of the mascot fitted to the race car.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I think it still might be a Morris from the BMC era.

Here is a 1955 Austin.

And of course a Bentley

I don't think it's Morris, but can't say what it is.
Lang, I think your link is Rusty's original ad. Note both have the same red overspray on them.

Yes I saw the photos were the same and presume this is where he bought it.

I'm wondering if not genuine Morris, it may be an aftermarket accessory, aimed at Morris vehicles.

It does have a strong resemblance to the Austin mascot of perhaps the same era.

Obviously designed on the Austin theme however the quality of the master suggests it is an amateur effort, not factory.

Nope, definitely not an original Morris badge.
It may be homemade, by someone whose name is Muggins or something, or maybe it is for a Morgan or a Marmon, or a Messerschmidt , etc. but I doubt it.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

What about a front mudguard ornament variation on Matchless?
