When I had the place at Oxley ,there was a really bad mechanic in one of the units there .........anyhoo,he rebuilt a WW2 jeep motor for a guy I knew ......... zero oil pressure when hot with new bearings......turned out the mechanic had used 20 under shells on a 30 under crank........but in the meantime ,to raise the oil pressure the mechanic had screwed the relief down tight .........when the right shells were fitted ,the oil pressure went sky high and the gauge burst .

I think the point might of got missed here
I think the problem only happens under acceleration and even with the motor spinning quick
once you take the foot off the go pedal, the oil pressure returns to normal

Just a quick reply the pump is driven vai camshaft has no reflection to throttle I disagree the faster the engine spins the faster the camshaft spins albeit at half engine speed

Just to be clear i will give a simple example....I am going down a SLIGHT downhill run at 1500 rpm with foot off pedal I have 50psi oil pressure and the slightest touch on the accelerator which HARDLY alters the rpm and oil pressure drops to 30psi

Possibly crankcase pressure.
Check the, change the, or fit a PCV valve.

When this happens, would you think that it would be enough acceleration to make the oil slosh back and forth in the sump, or not really?
Just wondering if a baffle is missing in the sump, or the floating bit of the pickup that John mentioned has come of (if it has one).
The only time I had anything even vaguely like this was a 245 hemi Dodge, but I never did investigate, just put it off the road.
Jarrod.

Going back to basics and not trying to overthink. Change of throttle creates change of manifold vacuum, irrespective of engine speed. I would be looking for some sort of connection between manifold and oil system, eg manifold vacuum opens or closes a port/valve/flap related to oil gallery.

Now i have absolutely no idea ..................
(accellorater linkage not bending oil line to gauge?????????)
Might have a vacuum assisted relief valve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
