An interesting ad for Edbro Twin Ram hoists from 1965, showing an early Bell Bros roadtrain.
The truck appears to be an ERF .. but eye'll stand 2B kerr-rected .. as you well know ..
Bells must have got special dispensation from the MRDWA to get 76

That's a Pommy D8H with a S/N prefix of 68A (identical to the U.S.-built 46A series D8H) .. and the U.S. weights are as follows ..
Tractor operating weight ................. 48,000 lbs
Cat 8A angle blade ......................... 10,000 lbs
Rear-mounted No. 128 cable control .. 2,000 lbs
This makes a total of 60,000 lbs, which is 27,223 kgs.

I'll bet there was a rush to place orders, when this ad appeared in the "Power Farming" magazine of April 1944 ..
However .. not only did you have to be an "essential commercial user" .. you also had to apply, for a "Permit To Acquire" from the Govt .. :'(
No doubt, hundreds and hundreds of applications were received .. but only a few dozen applicants, got their order filled .. :'(

The S900 looks wider in the front than today's trucks, and I thought the W series were nice trucks until I looked at Swishy's pics.
