Not the drivers fault. They didn't tell him it was loaded with light beer so wasn't sitting down on the springs    :silly:

.
.I dont under stand that at all......the driver claims he has used that road before ..??????????
One would think the tautliner certainly wouldnt stop the thing.........
as said,it looks like the mover was on on its side as it went under the bridge, having cleared the
previous bridges ok.....will be interesting to find out the outcome........

The bridge is at an angle over the road (not square on) so the trailer has slid along it. If it was a single it would have flipped over.

Only guessing, but I wouldn't think that Arthur St was a designated B double route.

I can't believe I didn't see that. Makes perfect sense now.

That seems like the logical answer...........however............
He was north bound where the road angle is not what i thought was super great on the last section..............
and the front of the trailer is just leaning back ...no visable marks.....i would have thought that nose cone
would have been demolished by the bridge before it would have tipped the mover over.........
.................But..............there you go..............

A truck carrying a big excavator has tipped and crashed while rounding a bend northwest of Raglan.
It’s believed the vehicle was heading south along Raglan-Elmhurst Road before its heavy load shifted about 1pm.

Chipping away, one day at a time.
Limited Access Excavations.

so much for chains! I think the load was heavy enough to do it's own thing chained or not

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!
