I'm not hunting through my own collection.
With that clue, Avenel (Vic.).

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
On the Hume freeway, somewhere around Wallan or Seymour exits. I have seen it several times and wondered if the boxes were weather stations or just bee hives.

Nope so far guys. Much furtherrrrr to the left.
New clue, if you stood at Wallan, Seymour or Avenek and looked towards the City of Churches, it'd also be on your left - but no sea view. (It is a major road, quite busy in fact.)
PS. The above-mentioned white things on the RHS of the original pic are in fact the abutments to the old bridge (old bridge itself is long gone, but abutments on both sides are still there.)

Reprising the clues so far:
it's in Victoria, and when facing the banana-benders it's on the left hand side.
(Much furtherrrrr to the left.)

New clue, re the original pic (repeated below to refresh your memory) - behind the photographer (just over my right shoulder, about 50 metres away) is an old pub (real old) which has an animal species mentioned as part of the pubs name (it's an imported animal and even now not very common in Australia.)
