I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
By the position of that car and the condition of the pub roof, I would say that the pub has not operated for a long time.
I do not know where it is and will not use the computer to try to find it.
Cobbadog,A lot of towns in Victoria have the nose-in angle parking. I think it was designed by people who do not drive, or perhaps by panelbeaters! (or undertakers?)

It's too soon for region. It is also too soon for a 20 questions approach.
I picked this one because it is on a road which many members will have driven.
It was rather in decline at the time. The bar was trading, but the lounge space was being used as the family lounge, with lots of children's toys cluttering the floor.
AFAIK it is now delicensed, but the building survives. Google Earth isn't helping, as its view is older than mine.

Other quizzes have run much more slowly. I don't worry about stalling until 2 days go by.
This pub does/did front a highway, which is why I thought that many members may have driven past it (car or truck).
It is interesting that the fireplace was mentioned, as I had that photo as an available clue.
I haven't painted anything out.
