And the box of chockies goes to Rodders, I thought the approach pic might have stumped you. Rodders, I am away and not able to add a more usual view, and would be obliged if you could float one from google for me.

The story goes that it is/was the last mixed road rail bridge in Australia. And that during construction one of the laborers could not be found at the end of his shift, nor his wheelbarrow. It is presumed he has fallen down the pylon when barrowing cement into it.

Over to you Mr Smith.

There were ten or more in Australia. Only a few have been demolished, but most survivors are no longer combined road & rail: either the rail has been closed, or the road has been relocated.
I should have given others a 24 hour handicap start, but there was an expectation that I would snap it up.
One easy win deserves an easy follow on.
Again, I picked one where many members will have driven.

Yes, the early 1930s bridge over Clarence River, between South Grafton and Grafton. It replaced one of Australia's very-rare railway ferries. The bascule span can no longer be opened.
Pacific Hwy has been diverted via a new bridge, but the original still carries the Sydney - Brisbane railway and local traffic.
I can't find my rigged photo showing an aeroplane, boat and the span open.
This smaller one has to suffice.

It isn't the only surviving rail & road bridge in Australia, but one other was too giveaway to use as a WheremEye photo, and I don't have a photo of a third on the hard drive.
Self-serve beverage of choice to wee-allis while preparing the next challenge.
Meanwhile, I will scan some of the ones which are at medium to severe level.

I'm not going flying with you Steve.
Looks like the 'air brakes' worked just in time before you hit the crumble zone.
