Sons of Gwalia Hotel (near Leonora, WA).
It is delicensed, but features in lots of pub calendars.

Terry Got it.
Only pub on the Birdsville track. Don't know about the Tom Kruse vehicles as every old truck within 600 km of the track "belonged" to Tom Kruse.
Photo of my Nissan Patrol was on the last Postie Bike Challenge waiting for the ambulance from Birdsville. In the aircon cab was a bloke with a dislocated shoulder, beside him was a bloke with a broken wrist both off in the wheel tracks. We leave on Sunday for this year's ride Brisbane-Karumba-Cooktown-Cairns. Hopefully less hospital visits this year.

I can't find my downloaded cartoon of Columbus landing on the east coast of North America.
There was a sign on the beach, pointing to McDonald's.

It looks as if our previous winner doesn't have anything suitable, so I'll keep the action rolling.
At first sight, this could be Beaumaris in the early 1950s. I remember when it was scrub, and my father bogged the family car in deep sand on an unmade street.
However, it isn't.
I'm looking for the name of the road, and a nearby town, hopefully in each direction.

You might Laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same
Well.... It looks very much like Beaumaris on the east coast of Tasmania... But that ain't a Tasmanian rego on the bus.... So it can't be anywhere there
