Hi Detective

You are correct in that he Wyvern had a 4-cylinder engine and the otherwise almost identical Velox had a 6-cylinder one but I think they both had side opening bonnets. The bonnets could be opened from either side or removed altogether. This was certainly the case with the early EIP and EIX models like the one in Roland's last photo.

Have the photo brought forwards for convenience.
My lhs quartet are:
Austin A55 Cambridge.
Holden ute.
Vauxhall ute.
Austin A40 panel van.
I haven't checked anything, and may have slight errors with the models.

Grandad, I was thinking that they came in from the old country, Roland must have the dry rot setting in or he younger than I think, I was only a boy back then.

Graham, No we think bicycles by the rack of biycles out the front, and the Austin Cambridge, Roddick choice, has the passenger door open to let someone out or in.

The photo is said to be 1958 and is interesting the ages differences of the cars in one photo
