This ancient and enormous Chicago Pneumatic three-cylinder engine powered a generator for a sawmill and later for a small town. It runs on propane. 10,000 cubic inches. The backfire it makes when it shuts down sounds like bombs going off. Very impressive.
Those on the left have 2 get up pritty earl eye to beat us over yonder on the right
LOL

the most interestin thing about this engine to me is 3 cyclinders that may not mean much to most people but from a engine builders view counter balancing the reciprical weight of an engine that size if it was4 cyclinder is a task!!!! cut one lung off big problem ??????? i think the solution is in the crankcase area between #3 cyc and the flywheel = big counter weight in there ???

Well, I've been out working, fixing stuff, so you blokes got the jump on me. My man in AZ is good buddies with Don, and he raves about what a great place the Gold King Mine is.
He doesn't need to do anything to Don to get him to talk .. he says the man can't stop talking about machinery and trucks, once you ask him a question.
I guess I'm just an ignorant old Catskinner in this engine design question .. but I was always under the impression that 3 cyl engines were very well balanced, because of the 120

Hi greenfall34
What is the problem with 3 cylinder engines is it just the size or 3 cylinders as Southern Cross built them, 3 cylinder engines
