Granion Transport Mack was a flash with chromed cones on the drive axle, "radio controlled" on the bonnet is something my dad always spoke about for when my brother and grew up and would come home to the farm, neither happened, my brother and I growing up or coming home to the farm

Funny how things never work out how you would imagine

At their Peak in the early Mid 90's they had well in excess of a 100 Trucks & were actually Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) ..
Cranston Transport in Bathurst Bought their Remains 5-6 years ago..!!

As for Bunkers..?? Short version of a Looong Story is;

in 2013-14 an American Private equity Investment House Bought Bunkers & several other Transport Companies. Was eventually Named Redstar Logistics ..
Couple of days before Xmas 2018 Receivers & Liquidators Shut it all down..

I imagine, like ever seems the case with these private equity mobs, buy for its assets, sell all, lard up with debt (pay capital thus raised to self), walk away without regard to fate of company.

Redstar safety record wasn’t exactly impressive, with 2 fatal accidents, I think in one of the accidents there were multiple fatalities. Drivers were charged with longer than legal driving hours.

Bunkers were originally an Alltrans subby ... Travlos being the main TNT subby ... TNT freight was higher priority than Alltrans .... But Alltrans and TNT pretty much became the same thing later on
