Greetings. Can anyone remind me who ran the 3070- the color scheme is familiar- was it a Thompson ???. Nifty didn't write any names on the back of any of these. I suspect the 4070 with the factory sleeper is either Mannum Haulage or maybe Rick Coby. They were taken 48 years ago so that's my excuse for not remembering. Pete

Greetings. The 3 corner jack emblem is for Albury Border Trans- I reckon Nev was given that photo but it was taken in Nuriootpa- I took many a photo from that balcony that can be seen. I reckon there is one of my photos on P26 that is the same truck of John Collins and on p70 or was it 71 there is a B & W photo of mine of the V De Poi Kenworth K now painted Brambles colors in Nev's photo.. Nev's is at the cement works in Angaston. Next week then.

Could also be considered to look the same as the "bomb" insignia like on the bomb light Cortinas.
I remember those 3 cornered jacks being in bulk at West Wyalong caravan park some time back. They are totally unforgiving when wearing a pair of things, the type meant to be on your feet. (thought I better clarify that bit, real quick). Also found them at Mildura one time travelling through.

Cobbadog- you'd mean a mark 1 Cortina eh- chum had one & have taken a few photos through the windscreen. And yeah, 3 corner jacks do tend to invoke a bit of break dancing when the double pluggers are worn on hostile territory. I used to wear Massai sandals in Africa made from the side wall of a car tyre- pretty much bullet proof for 3 corner jacks. Still got them out in the shed but wear more comfortable foot wear these days. Pete

The three corner Jacks, amazingly easy to get rid of but not many people do, I was always amazed at the old cane farmers walking around in bare feet on them and just sort of rub their feet on the headland so they didnt take any back to the house
