Greetings. I selected the Deutz photos with Mrsmack in mind- seeing a Deutz was an exciting time for me as I didn't see them much. The Sheppard's Merc, the Vuaghan subbie and the Albion Reid 1418 were taken in Nuriootpa as was the C J Dean photo and the R model of Cobar Aggregate. December 1972 I had that roll of film developed. Trucks have been discouraged from using Nuri's main street these days but when I was going to High School it was the only way to go if you were heading to or from Adelaide. More next week.

may seem strange today ,but back then anything resembling a truck was hard to buy....even as late as 1969,there was a long waiting list for a Inter Acco with a Perkins.....12 months IIRC......either wait a year or buy a Leyland ......we got a Bison 8 wheeler ....with a OHC 500 ,big selling point was there was no separate head......no gasket to blow.........catch was if the valveseats cracked, you were up for a whole new block.......there was 12 month wait for a new block!.......so the truck got a new Perkins 354.
