Thanks for all of the help. Photo was taken at Tumblong when I was about 13 (1960), on my first trip interstate with a friend in a Dodge V8 singlr drive and bogie trailer loaded with Kellogs Corn Flakes.

overnite, don't worry about having trouble posting photos, I had a hell of a time before bugly911 explained it to me. Look at Forum FAQ in the index, adding pics, 3rd page, bugly makes it a lot simpler. Look forward to seeing your pictures.-Hamish Petrie.

Here is the Dodge V8 Power Giant mentioned above, that my first trip interstate. As a 13 year old ,I thought I was King dick in that truck. My friend that I went with, (pictuered is still with us ).He is 88 and fit as a fiddle living in Burpengary Qld. I still keep in touch, as I appreciate what he did for me back then. As a single guy of 33, I am sure he didnt really want a 13 year old kid with him.

anything above the reasoning of a mongrel dog is a waste of time

Overnite, didn't you just love carting those cornflake, slip sliding away, neutral in a tail wind, second cog in a headwind, both sailorV and I both did our bit carting them from Hay, (make Hay while the sun shines) to Adelaide, my bro and I were always backing into each other to staighten the load, worst freight I ever carried. :-[

Sorry for being off topic-
Ronhorse do you remember these trailers? I only posted this pic recently, we always called it a "kellogs" trailer..Cars one way, corn flakes the other apparantly..
Dad used it for cars only, it got modified endlessly, I think it took seven cars, which was big time in the 70's...
Would have been easier than your boxes sliding around like the ones in the pic above I reckon? Mongrel single wheels though.. And hydraulic brakes, shocking that they were...
Cheers!
