White semitrailer bus

Hi Roderick, it doesn't take long to get around Gladstone. When we were kids we used to play in all that coal where the coal loader was. Used to pinch a bit of grain out of the trains for my mates aviary down there as well. Do you recall what year the picture was taken?

top photos rod, i've never even seen a picture of one till i've been on this forum, are they any still in captivity?...jk

One is preserved by the Sydney Bus Museum - very similar to the one in Roderick's photo. The prime mover is built from a scout car. For the life of me I don't know why I didn't take a photo of it when I visited the museum at Tempe in July 2008, but I did take this cab shot:

Even while this thread was in its early days, I found and obtained a copy of Greg Travers 'Australian articulated bus; Transit Australia Publishing, 1987; isbn 0 909459 10 X.
It has 112 inner pages, A4, glossy, and is illustrated profusely (b&w). There is a card cover, with colour.
The first half covers semitrailer buses; the second half covers modern articulated buses.
It is very comprehensive. The author has an excellent reputation in the urban transport field, and the publisher is a serious/erudite one.
It has expanded my level of knowledge of the types: many more than I realised existed.
One interesting photo shows a double-deck semitrailer bus in what was then Calcutta (India).

I am on the laptop for a week, with no access to the scanner, the printer, or photo-manipulation software, so I can't send a scan of the cover (or the title page, or a sample page).
