a bit off topic, but let's here it for the jap trucks... i reckon they look as though they're always going to be maligned, but surely they have got the runs on the board by now?...

there are plenty of early to mid seventies jap bangers still carving it out, and am occasionally called upon to refurb (at least cosmetically) one of these old girls that has given faithful service to a bloke who may have nothing but high praise

...i say bring 'em all into the fold :) :) 8-) 8-)

There was an Isuzu at Clunes last show & I did'nt see anyone chasing him outa the place. I'm sure lotsa blokes have made a good quid with them over the years. They're usually reliable, even if they get used & abused. cheers Tim ;)

steptoe

never mind about more suitable truck the criteria is 30 years and over so you put your entry in and we will accept the jap truck with open arms Thanks Brad pres

G'day Pres.., is the 30 year criteria to suit the NSW club system?
Or a 'set cut off date' to keep the vehicles 'old enough'?

These are fairdinkum questions as we do have some ol jap bangas here that meet club rego requirement down here in Mexico..

My question is, how strict is the 30 year requirement?

Thank you
regards

The rolling 30 year old rule has it's roots in the rules of the international federation of historic motor clubs (or words to that effect for the name). Wether it was the the clubs in NSW or the RTA who locked it in first may be lost in history.

If the club thats running the event says it's 30 yrs old then it;s 30yrs there whats the problem .

If your truck is not 30 yrs old then your not on the run . Dave

We were discussing the run with a few jokers yesterday and the question was asked..
My answer was, i don't know, i shall ask...
So ask, i have...
I reckon the young bloke was a bit keen to run his 'Billycart' down the Hume..but shes only 28....

See ya soon
