Have a look at this beauty. Thirlmere rail museum has this beautiful display. Almost a truck. Runs Ford V8, manual box, headlights n bumper bars.

Hi,

the Grille looks like they borrowed it off a Ford too.

Probably started as a chassis and cowl, as was common in the day.

A bit more on the brazen, but ill-planned robbery.

The article says the V8 Mercury engines were replaced with Ford Thames V8. I wasn’t aware of a Ford Thames V8, maybe before my time.

Overnite, I've seen a couple of Ford Thames Trucks with V8's in them. They looked a bit like a Parrot nosed Dodge..!!
I just assumed they were ordinary Ford Side valve Motors.. Weren't Mercury's just Badge Engineered Canadian Built Fords..??

Overnite,
This is a Thames with a V8 motor, part of the family fleet back in the fiftys.

I think the same engine as fitted to the Ford Pilot and later the Simca Vedette. Smaller than the regular Ford and Mercury V8s. ( Maybe classed as the 60hp engine)
