There were US built and Aussie built versions of the V392 Rod, yours is probably a Geelong engine but I dont know how to tell them apart.

Interestingly, in the AB-series manual, there's not a mention of the 392 (although the 345 is listed and full specs/repair info supplied) .. yet the C-line manual shows two columns - "V-345" & "V-391" (?).
However, the "V-391" column is blank? What was the V-391?
AFAIK, the C-lines most definitely had the 392, yet the C-line manual only lists specs and repair info, for the 345?
I can recall the IH trucks still had the 392 option up until the late 1970's, yet I can't recall when they were introduced.

I was able to buy a Service Manual for the ACCO-C Chassis (Form CTSA 2300) and it does give Engine Tune-Up Specifications for the V-345, V-345A and V-392 ;)

I think the V392 first came to Australia for the C line and the "short door" ACCO, maybe 66 or 67. It was probably around in the states much earlier but never heard of the V391.

HeyCharger - could you put up copies of the tune data for the 345's, please? - I've got 2 1978 D series- with the bl__dy emissions-control. I have a parts-book for D-series if people need help.

Sorry Peter, would you still like a copy. I will see if I can scan it.

ALSO. Just trying to time my engine (392) and I note that it has TWO identical timing marks on the pulley (180 deg apart). Why and which one is the real one? :D Rod.
