Looks like a good project. What are your plans? Welcome aboard

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

Thanks for that, have already kick started the job, lol,is mostly stripped down at the mo.Engine (believe original) is stripped to block and being cleaned, rotten timber frame is being re-made in hardwood (using all my saxon skills),new tyres ordered, numerous bits and bobs purchased. All ID numbers and tags match,so keeping this as original as possible :),wish me luck lol.

Love to see some more photos and know a bit of history behind the truck!

Hi FF,just got some more pics and info.Off the floor mounted ID plate its a K-34-V ,it is a TJR cab and was given some classification (on another floor mounted plate)
by
Harden&Johnston Ltd
117-131 Flinders St Sydney

the engine has the prefix T14

and the chassis number matches the ID plate,
Signage still on the drivers door says

FARGIE & SON
CARRIERS
430 SUMMER ST
ORANGE

have done some research on them but drawn a blank :(

Yes Mammoth - TJR is T J Richards (Body builder - Adelaide). Year: 1935
Harden & Johnston was the Dodge distributor in Sydney, Australia.

Surely someone would know the carrier in Orange?? :-?

I am narrowing down on the history,Geoffa has had a look also, thru ancestry .com can track a bit of the Fargie family and have just messaged a guy in Port Macquarie who maybe related, fingers crossed. :)

On the restoration,am picking up some new 6.50 x 20 black rubber rings tomorrow and Engine block is back from the cleaners looking like a bought one.Plus theres a fresh box of beers in the fridge ,so should be a great weekend. ;D

Welcome. A nice project you have there, looks to be fairly complete which will make your job easier. I have a 34 Fargo which was my grandfathers, cab not as good as yours. A pic of it below. A few projects to do before I get to it though. Good luck with yours and keep the pics and info of your resto coming. Cheers Stephen
