Decided to give the Mrs the weekend off from cleaning truck bits ,and besides she hasnt mowed the lawn or cleaned my work truck for a while, although she has been good and got me a fresh box of beer, plus I dont like to over step the mark as she has started doing cage fitness and kickboxing so I'm a bit scared lately.

So I got into playing with the 35 on my own.
Another weekend of multi tasking ,welding, stripping parts, sanding, cleaning, beering etc etc.Am undecided what to do with the parts truck, almost thinking of a project within a project lol,or sell it off as parts ,or as a project,or even chuck it together as a rat panel truck,we shall see.

First pic shows the exhaust manifold off the 35 that was broken at the flange(on the left),I ground it neat and have a flange to weld on,being cast iron ,was going to be a pain,so grabbed an intact manifold off the spares truck :)

Am a bit spoiled for spare parts lately ,although there are some differences part to part even with the panels

Have been doing a bit of welding repair to the left front guard ,to say its ruff is an understatement lol,but we never say die around here. The first pic shows the amount of "bush" patch repairs that have been made over the years (all 79 of them)

next pic shows state of the nose area that bolts to the chassis front and to the radiator shroud before repairs

Hey B Fixer,am sure most others suffer the same limitations eh.When you try and work out the amount of hours we choose to sink into our projects it does your head in.Little wonder it costs so much to do a resto by taking them to a panel shop or the like.Luckily its our chosen hobby (or 1 of them lol) so the hours we spend "playing" in the shed are irrelevant (plus its an ideal time to partake in the other hobbies of drinking beers and listening to good music etc etc).Am planning to be adding to this resto thread more in the near future. So stay tuned :)

Just tried to shuffle stuff in the shed to get a decent pic,bit of a failed mission, still there is always next weekend. Some progress has been made and have had both front brake drums machined.

G,day Detective, thanks for that.Yes she is a great looking truck, always have had a liking for early 30's auto's.At the moment its the same old story of trying to do atleast some work to her most days,am trying to get all sheet metal back to metal and in undercoat with a few hits with the hammers in between lol.The next big step is to finish the cab timberwork, there is a forest worth of it lol,the floor timbers are in as well as the lower "A" pillers,am soon to be fitting the timber that goes behind the dash piller to piller. As you can see from earlier pics the original frame was rootytooted, still need to carve out half a dozen timbers before I can bracket and bolt and set the cab (to fit doors). The other big battle at the moment is getting together a set of 6 matching 20 inch rims, only have a couple of usable rims amongst all the ones I have. Thanks for your interest.

That's it, just keep chipping away (literally, in this case!) and you'll get there.
Appreciate the updates.

Cheers.
