It is 1/4 thick gasket paper
I used instead of massonite type stuff they use in interiors
That massonite sort of dissolves over time but I figured gasket paper last for decades, even if it gets wet or oily and is built for heat etc

We just made the new interior for the Mack, vinyle, backing foam, spray on glue, 1/4 inch gascket paper and in a few days and a the odd word of frustration I had pretty much a new interior for the Mack
It isn't simple and the gasket paper was the dearest thing of the job

When I remade the door cards for Lorry I just used that MDF stuff which is a step better than the cardboard. Fortunately the old ones were good enough to use as the template so away I went with the same spray glue, 1/8" foam and some good old reliable contact cement. Many people roll their eyes over contact cement but when used correctly it does a fantastic job. Secret is to fit the upholstery to where you want it to go and make sure your happy with the fit then apply the glue to both surfaces and let it go touch dry. Put it together and all is good for the next bit to stick down.
When I fitted the marine grade lay flat carpet to the roof, that was a real battle on your own and even harder with help as we got in each others way so I just carried on a bit at a time. There was a couple of places that did not quite stick properly so a visit to the Chemist to buy the biggest syringe they had after convincing him I was not a drug addict and injected the glue into place. What a shitful job that was as the thick glue did not like going down the needle but it did in the end.

Family and health always should come first so get everyone back on track.
I love the slide on camper idea. Will your mirrors be out far enough to see past the overall width?
Love the wheel brace stand as well.
