Both our dodges had 6V-53 donks and we had 6 speed overdrive Commer / Dodge gearbox's in them. Get along at 110 just nice.

I know the 15 speed road rangers could be changed to overdrive by changing 4th & 5th gear which gave you 4th gear towards your leg & back & 5th gear straight forward.

Hi Pat,yes I am a big fan of the ol'WABCO scraper probably as I did my time as an apprentice diesel fitter with Wabco Distribution,Pty Ltd. in Brisbane.
They were a great machine , but scared a lot of fitters as the elevator drives were electrically driven instead of hydraulically as on other machines.
On the Wabco 111a even the steering was electrically driven. It was funny steering a big machine with a spring loaded toggle switch on the dash, and you had to keep the 4/71 GM above 1500 rpm or the electric contactors for the steering would over heat.
The electric things were all hangovers from RG Letourneau who designed them before Westinghouse air brakes company (WABCO) bought him out.

Thanks Swishy , I had no photos at all , the 222G model on the top photo was probably the "best of the best"' the later 222H had transmission problems. (Allison powershift) as was the 222G. the bottom open bowl scraper is a 229 (I think IT was 30 years ago)
Ta mate.
