How strong's your headboard???

Could you rig a pulley up so as the Winch is pulling from the Top of the headboard.....

Sorry Rod, just thinking out aloud.......

How's this for an idea?
Mount the winch at or near the back of the tray (underside). If the cable runs to a pulley then up to top of tray , or, through a slot in the tray, then you could easily pull up vehicles from their rear end and you could get good angles to pull on the ramps. If needed you could pull cable under tray out the back for something lower and further away....

ah ha... Just saw this;

The bracket half way up is to stop the bi-fold flapping around. Up the top is where it all happens. As the ramp is lowered, the chain is attached to the lever extending from the top of the shorter ramp. As the ramp is lowered, the chain pulls the lever, thereby extending the back half. Brilliant.

Heycharger

Some very clever thinking gone into that one as same chain also acts as safety for the ramps when travelling. ?? did you also have a tape measure handy to get a few measurements.

Drat. No I didn't and I had a NEW 10m (imperial/metric) tape measure straight from Aldi in the car too.
The extension bar out the top would have only been 6-8". Brilliant bit of thought gone into it.

Ah. I see it all now. Please remember that if possible, I do not want to use hydraulics to lower the ramps. I want to use a winch mounted at the front of the tray.
With the photo I posted, I could accomplish this (I think). :-?
