Drive About Truck Pics

.The other day................
we sat down to dinner (lunch as they call it these days )..on our back verandah , when i heard a Maxi choof....
To my wife i said (and she said not another bloody truck !!!!!!)..... that was a bit bigger than a single drive thingo..so
i had better have a quick squizzo ...........coming back i say,. dinner will have to go on the back burner for a while as
there is a old KW cab over pulled up next door,.
Now next door is having a Granny flat built out the back with the frame completed. so a brick delivery may be the go......
Granny flats are popping up every where around us lately and one annoying thing is occurring............ more and more
people are parking their cars in the street in preference to putting them in their driveways.......
Seeing as it is a narrow street, has a regular bus service and is a popular short cut, with the Granny flats, there
may up to 4 or even 6 cars per block making for a lot of congestion.
Having said that,,,,,,it is time to grab the camera and shoot out the front to check on what looks like a KW from the 70s.
Aaahh yep, the driver is unhooking the tailgator fork, so i asks if it is OK to take some pics....go for your life he says,........
A front view to start with before i ,hopefully, have a bit of a natter to him .........

.Before i take any more pics , i shall try to have a chat to the driver..............
I start the conversation by saying ........i used to be a brick carter..( what else would i say )........... Even though
his load was actually roof tiles...........he apparently subbied for the old ZACUBA brick yard after i left
and TNT folded up not long after........The brick deliveries were done at the time he was there by Linfox.......
Now he is delivering tiles for CSR..............
Any way back to the KW............
About 20 years ago he seen an add about a K125 KW mover for sale as is, with a seized 350 Cummins .
down the south coast near Ulladulla, belonging to Woodsy (P. H woods i think )........
So he choofed down ,had a look, bought it for (i think about $4000 bucks if i remember correctly ???)
Had it towed home (much to the joy of his better half ) and started to reserect it.
Over hauled the donk himself for about $10,000 bucks ,tidied the rest up and put her to work.
He has been working it ever since and has had a very good run ...(mate ..you carnt kill these old girls )
Anyway ,with the OK to put pics on this forum, i got behind the camera again.......................

.Well.....Dinner was 2 peanut butter and lettuce sangas..... (yummy).....
They were a little dryish when i had them...........all by my self...........

Yep those KW oldies will stand a bit of a work over..................and it seems like over time this one has had
a fair bit done to it....which is only natural........disk alloy rims will be all round.......L/H drive still to go.....
7 inch lights.........twin exhausts......I suppose it had a paint job earlier on as Woodsies trucks were green......
Here is the back of the 350 ...jakes and all.......wouldnt be a good truck with out them.......

take a pic of the diffs but for some reason didnt get round to it, (maybe didnt want my peanut butter
and lettuce sangas to get cold )....................




Well.........look at that now...........a John Goth suspension i am thinking..............
Too bad i didnt get the drivers phone No..........i would like to find out where that came from..............
I shall have to keep my eye out for it....hopefully.............
Well thats about it ..........he has no plans to get rid of it ,as it it still doing the job with ease .............
