Here`s something similar for you Tatra.Someone has put this KW cab on a Leyland, over powered by a V8 Perkins. The pic was taken in the same yard my Road boss came from, complete with a bit of TK Bedford cab sort of welded, duct taped on to the back of it.There are other atrocities there as well, like a Ford F 700 on a Mack NR chassis. What where they thinking?

Cam,
That thing - seen a pic on BLB and linked to it on an ATHS thread
But then, the truth is weirder than fiction:
The K100E on the right was hit on the LH corner but that's not the reason for the set-back axle, it was a KW option and chosen by some European and Israeli hauliers - the KWs are a part of Friderici's (Switzerland) fleet that used to do the Middle-East routes, which were probably as hard as anything you have down under.

Cheers,

Bigcam, the answer to your question is I've no idea, sorry...
By the way, to give you an idea what the Europe-Asia routes were like for these guys, see here:

Loads of pics from Swiss trucker Claude Rey-Mermet (sadly no loger with us), featring the Friderici K-Ws.
Cheers

Martin Phippard - name rings a bell - put me out of my misery please.
Scammell OSS had a Bedford cab. Can't think of any other Scammells that were that way. Again, put me out of my misery.

...and also wrote a book or two, if I'm not mistaken, and his photography is here to see:

As for the Bedford cabs being used on Scammells, unless Grandad is pulling me leg, he might have thought about the Bedford/Scammell semis you mentioned.
On the subject of the McRobbie Buffalo, at the end of the day if 100% originality is not an issue (leaving out the $$$$ question), then I suppose any good used cab which can be fitted and will look "right" is an option...
Cheers,
T
