Gday all, well as Fill forsaw, i bought another truck.

Ex Brian Marsden 1418 Mercedes "the Frauline"
24' tray, and rough.
sat for 12 years at least, a bit of fiddlin' and a couple of batteries and she fired up.

sat again at Slasha marchetti's place for 6 months , I had to wait till it became uncomfortably hot to move it

25 kms to the farm, she ran like a ripper!

Good one Scratcha- Have you seen the "Bluey" episode (it's called "End of the line") all about Marsden's transport, and truck hijacking? It's a crackup...
and your old Benz might be amongst there somewhere, before it got stretched! It's worth watching just for all the 1970's daggyness... some of the talent is ok too!
cheers
Rich

Hi Scratcha
Happy New Year. Great to see you on the forum again I new it would come and be big. I saw it in another post and that was about six months ago, as you said.
It must feel good just to sit in it at the farm. It is a bit like fishing it justifies doing nothing. I very much enjoyed your last resto on the forum.
Enjoy it and we all are very interested in what ever you are going to do with it. ( ps it is a long time between beers ) Cheers Fill

Thanks Fill, ive been keeping an eye on your work, top notch as usual.
Trucks are like potato chips, you just cant have only one :cheer:

Ive been chasing down the brake drums over the last few days without too much success, then i went into mercedes benz in ummemering (doveton) the bloke behind the jump was great, still no drums, but he has told me the details i need to identify it. no castings on it unfortunately.
Im redoing the deck, probably in OB air dryed hard wood, itll have a tractor on it from time to time and a stock crate to move the cattle around the blocks.

It will need a respray, itll be a pity to do it as the old history of the original paint will be gone, its stained by possibly coolant that has etched into the duco. no amount of scrubbing will get it out, and ive tried.

Waiting on a fella with tubless rims for her to go to 11R's, price is right so cant complain if he takes a while.

I was hoping to do crawlin, but realistically, it wont be ready.

Scratcha.
Have an old Landcruiser with heaps of rust, that has stained the paint. A good lick of rust converter gets rid of most of the stain and old oxidized paint.
Cheers Steve
