Frauline Friday

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Craig Johnson photo from Longwarry 2013
Another Craig Johnson photo from 1979 on the Hume highway approaching the Marulan weigh bridge

Well we all know what day it is, Frauline Friday
I forgot last week so Im habing a crack this week
Actually I was busy and by the time it was my time it was all to late
So something a little different and to help while away the long cool nights of winter
I have no idea on whats been said but enjoy
Some famous looking fast car driver in a stylish truck
I reckon this second video is a comparison between old and new
And I can even understand this one

Waddya reckon on the pic of the red LPS 1418? Was the trailer a closed bogie that old mate shoved another axle in front of? Or was she a widepread, with another axle behind? Looks like a good old bit of bush ingenuity, anyways....

Neither, looks like a self steer trailer to me
Fruehauf did make some odd axle spacings when tri's first came out
But this is like a self steer copied from NZ, Freighter and Fruehauf both had a crack in Australia at sekf steer trailers back in the wide spread bogie days
I'm thinking that might be a NewZealand photo though, but they (the Kiwi jokers) had different types of tarping than Australia
So all we can do is guess
Some flash jiggers their Rich
