Found Photos

I think the air strip, air field, airport, landing field, landing ground, aerodrome, airplane, aeroplane are regional things. I remember when I was a kid Dad calling it Essendon Airstrip . Military fields also tended to be called strips. An airstrip today is a bit of grass crop-dusters operate from. Suppose it was how important they wanted their place to be.

I can contribute to the multi load pictures, Not a half-hour PR exercise but a load from Brisbane to Wagga and Corowa a few years back in the faithful F86. Never measured the height but possibly marginal?

That bottom photo was a Truck and Bus magazine cover photo back in the day

I read the details on the Thornycroft, I seem to recall it was a wopping 125 hp
Would be a very steady trip

Pasterfields in Inverell used to run several of those Thornycroft Trustys doing Inverell - Brisbane. They were very famous for how slow they went as well as time spent in the workshops.
