huppy, actually u'd be surprised to know that Chrysler made the cabs for both the inter and dodge at their plant in S.A and Inter supplied the chassis! They just fitted Dodge running gear.

You're quite right, the cabs are identical except for minor differences like the Dodge having a power bulge in the bonnet, and of course the front headlight/grill panel, which are all interchangeable right up to the D5N and Inter D series which again used the same cab so again they got almost 2 decades of models out of the 1 cab for 2 brands of trucks!

The back half of the cab shell, from the front windscreen backwards, actually dates from the American A-Line Inter of 1957, which was identical to our AA series inters from 1958. Everything forward of the front windscreen is uniquely aussie and it looks like they also had to reskin the doors because the doors on the AA series inters have a contour to match the guards.

Yes D5n,s have longer springs on the front and 400 series up have the straight chassis rails, the longer springs made for a much better ride and they fitted shockies which helped too, steering column is longer on d5n,s as well but you can leave em or chop them down ;D
