How they are loaded and carted on tilt trays really depends on where they have to be placed on arrival. No good loading them with the doors to the rear, if they have to be placed up against a tree or such on the farm or up the side of a building. Quite often there is no room to offload and then turn them around to suit the customer. Stick them on backwards, back in and slide them off.

I like the fact it is on a hoist in the "paint prep" section. Why do you need the body off for that?

Cobba, With the Current Series Ford F Truck, , You HAVE to remove the Body to remove the Engine &/or Transmission..!!!

Having said That, I think that. the Photo is of a Chevy Suburban..

When I was in the shed at Oxley, one of the mechanics there was revving a car on a hoist ,it took off across the car in front of the hoist, over a workbench ,thru louvres and landed on the roof of a car parked in the laneway......62 Blunder Rd Oxley .....some of the mechanics there you wouldnt believe........still ,they were very handy for yearly truck inspections and roadworthys.

I know that manufacturers think their product will run for ever but who thought it was a good idea to have to remove the bod to do a gearbox and or an engine?

Bit like the V8 diesel Landcruisers, or at least when they first came out, pull the engine out to replace a starter motor.
