Or that someone would keep/ store something (clearly undercover) for so long, then scrap it.

I suppose a scrappy with the eye, time, appreciation and room to hold back such things should be considered a collectors best friend?

Your 3 ton Fargo would probably be a 1942 or 1947 model. No trucks for commercial use were made in 1943 and 1944. In 1945 and 1946 trucks had no chrome, with the exception of the windscreen divider and door handles.

Your truck shows remains of chrome on the grille. The main difference between the Dodge and the Fargo was the grille. Dodge and DeSoto used one type, and Fargo and Plymouth used the other.

Fargo also had a small plate (aluminium) on the front hub, whereas Dodge used the hexagon nut.

If you can provide an Engine Number, we might narrow it down. My father had a new Dodge in 1942 and 1946, and the Engine Number of the 1946 model was T110L81614C.
