Truckin about the district

This Scania 110 was at our local engineers recently. Not too bad for it's age and reasonably rust free.

We saw this one when we stopped for a beer after a trip up the 130 km 362 sand hill Googs Track from Ceduna to Tarcoola on the East West rail line and where the Darwin line heads North.

I have always thought that Goog's track was impassable from south to north, is this not correct?

Interesting point you raise about travelling Googs Track. The track is passable in both directions and is easier to go from South to North and preferred by the authorities. We did pass vehicles heading South. A hazard flag and UHF radio make travel safer. I've also done the French line over the Simpson Desert and that is great fun;1100 sand hills.I'd love to do it again sometime.

Went for a drive yesterday, to work on a strap trailer that I have agreed to purchase, and came across this KW not all that far from here. The bloke that owns it now has a smile all the way across his face and back to the other side. All I can say is that the Southern Comfort is put away but the Amber fluids are still flowing. Guess Who!!

Rumour has it that the historic plates are ready to go on!
