The two unbelievable names offered reminded me that when I was about eleven years old, I went to a school organised holiday camp. (not in WA) When we got there, we found that all the exciting sounding activities, kayaking, shooting, etc. were for senior boys only. My age group was restricted to walking and fishing, neither of which was new nor interesting. Even though the camp was on a beach, we were only allowed to swim at restricted times, under supervision. One day, they walked us to a fishing spot they assured us was called Whykickamoocow, although I could not find it on a map. We spent the night in tents among the sand dunes and next morning, breakfasted on pancakes with strawberry jam and sand. I expect the jam was deliberate, while the sand was probably due to slipshod cleaning of the pans.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Getting right off track here Morris, but in the '70s there was a yacht by that name, but spelt, "Waikikamookau", wrecked off Sydney Heads.

Wee-allis,
That spelling may be why I could'nt find it on the map?

Clue time?
It is between Carnarvon and Port Hedland (which is the destination of the bus, on which I was a passenger).
There will be several roadhouses in that distance, and we must have members who have driven the route, and have stopped at some of them.
In checking my caption before posting, I have been unable to find this one on Google Earth or on white pages phone numbers. I have got to a website which shows a different one, which was demolished several years ago now.
