Last time when I held off for a giveaway, others were upset, but with recent quizzes dragging, I went for short & sweet for this one. There is lots by googling for McKillops: famous in history, engineering, and culture.
eg: < www.onmydoorstep.com.au/heritage-listing.../mckillops-bridge> ;
It is one of the few roads in Victoria to be single lane, with passing loops. When vehicles meet, one has to back up. That is an increasing problem: it is a very popular summer camping/fishing spot, and is the place to launch kayaks for a downriver adventure. Cars have to climb out of the valley to reach the nearest general store. Surprisingly, it is a truck route from time to time. When Snowy floods blocked the lengthy rail and road bridges at Orbost, trucks diverted via this route. That must have happened into recent years again, after the railway closure.

I'll open one of my classy red wines, well above beer and my normal quaffing red.

The latest looks a bit generic, but my brain is ticking over Vic. & SA.

Again, inconsistent clues. I'll start with looking southbound where Calder Hwy (Vic.) curves east to Mittyack, and Sunraysia Hwy goes straight on. This must then be an old photo, as the intersection has been reshaped.

Calder Hwy would have centre lines/markings and left and right markings as well. This looks like a B or C Road.

The other clue is the presence of the brown tourist-location signs. The early quizzes in this series all featured a 'Big xxx' attraction. What ones are left? I took a Texan tourist to 'Big Cow Pat' once, and he was bored: 'Thaare aall that saaze in Texaas'.
There is a similar junction on Murray Valley Hwy, leaving Robinvale to the south and east, but it wouldn't have tourist signs either. IIRC it too has been improved and channelled.

Looks like hills in the background so not the NT. Also the flushing of the bitumen makes it a major intersection and a heavy vehicle route. The through road in the NT would have been widened to compensate, and the intersection reconstructed. BIDSTBC :)

I'm still thinking up north...........very similar vegetation on the Stuart Hwy north of the Carpentaria Hwy turnoff.

Looks to me that the bitumen runs out and becomes a dirt road just around the corner.
