never saw one on the nullabor a few years ago but have seen plenty on other highways , never knew the correct name for them , except oh f--k i bet it is an inside one , just pi--ed me pants larfing .

You noticed the correct spelling of gaiter-- keep trying
No relation to the Nymph that Myth had its origins in the early 1970`s one Xmas a bunch of truckies celebrated long and loud at the WA Border and out of their drunken revelry was born the Nullarbour Nymph .for a couple of years there was a sign a few ks SA side of the border --Nymph Crossing---
There was an albino Roo in that area for a while.that may have been the basis of the story.

Actually, Old Bob, a Nullarbor Gaiter is a term used by motorcyclists for a woollen neck warmer (or neck gaiter) used for riding in cold places like the Nullarbor.
