Replied by Roderick Smith on topic Ayers Rock buses in 1977
The photo and the buses are over 35 years old: hard to believe.
Thurs.12.5.77, Ayers Rock airstrip (since replaced on a more-remote site).
* Toyota Coaster, for local touring and/or motel transfers.
* Another Coaster. The mystery green bus has been identified in ATDB as a Toyota, with operator-fitted airconditioning, and hence the unfamiliar pod (not the factory option). Redline had one such in its Brisbane fleet. Redline operated a local fleet at Ayers Rock, but in the normal white with red trim scheme. See: www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=81968#p971864 .
Some Coasters were fitted with 4wd: factory or retro? This may have been one, but that isn't proven.
* GM-Denning, probably single rear axle, and possibly pensioned off from interstate and charter work for local touring. It is labelled generically 'Holiday Tours'.
