Dave64,
Mate the article I "borrowed" the Pic from States that the Powerpack of twin 671 GMs 10 speed all synchro Saginaw gearbox As well as both the diffs were built for general grant tanks.
With a Rhodes designed & built Transfer Case to Split the power to the 2 Diffs.
Article also says truck had a top speed of 22mph..

Cliff Byfield (the gent who built the cab) told me about this in the early 90's.
I couldn't believe they built a truck 3.5metres wide and it was only when this Thread started that I remembered our conversation.
Cliff could turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.
He restored some magnificent Jaguars over the years, a true Craftsman. Oh and a true Gentleman.

Swishy no chain drive all gear drive
This is not the first time some like this has been done Southern Cross built a twin engine set which was 2 BG-C 4 cylinder engines side by side through a gear box like on the Ridiey -one output shaft-I think you will also fine that the engine crank gears are slightly smaller than the output shaft gear, on the Southern Cross it was 2 to 1 ratio which gave a lot of toque to the output shaft
If the Ridiey had some reduction before the main gear box that would be a big help to the output toque at the wheels

What would the 2 linkages at the back of the motors on top of what I would have thought to be the output shafts of each bank operate............refer to Hayseeds photo on page 1

Levers in question...Clutch levers..
I had the remnants of a side by side setup, the double bellhousing case etc, yes from a tank originally, amongst a scrap job many years ago...
A fella used it in a 'Tractor' in Waubra (Victoria)
Some of the 'local' blokes on here will remember it.
Sorry no pics of the setup, but it had a slow combustion stove arrangement as a muffler / exhaust.
I have no doubt it could be heard for MANY miles around the hills on a frosty night..
Mr. Harrison was an interesting bloke to talk to...

What would the black painted item be on the right engine, coming from the opposite side of the blower drive? A big old Delco Remy generator?
Did you note the twin cooling fan drives out the front.
