Removed the unwanted Ford 351 V8 motor today
Engine hoist sprang a leak so could not lift any weight. Called in the neighbours hay tractor to do the job. All went well. Much easier and quicker than the hoist.
Have a few leads on a good running International V8 to put into the XF4. Will be checking these out over the coming weeks.

looking good there Tommy I think you'll find the mirrors would be a standard IH item of the time I have nothing to base this on just a feeling

I tend to agree with you on this one Paul. From the 'in service' photo, the arm mounting bracket on the back of the mirror appears to be offset to one side. Also, the mirror has been mounted so that it sits in closer to the cab. I suspect that this is to minimise contact with bushes etc.

After some researching, I now know where there are original photos of the XF4 .....but having trouble getting to them :'(. I'll keep trying.
