FWIW
Wide cab COE have a small gab from side of cab to mirror..... and the wind goin past causes a slight vacuum @ the mirror glass
this is where the road spray from a dirty day gets sukd up onto the mirrors ... make n it hard to reconize wot U C in mirror
this is where the spray deflectors do work
A narrow cab conventional does not have the same probles as there is a bigger gap Btween cab n mirrors where the wind travels Btween cab n mirror and blows the road spray away
Or
there abouts

I remember Pa making a set to fit onto the "C" pillars (rear) of his FC Holden wagon. They kept the dust off the back window when driving on the dirt roads, and they did. So maybe these are for what has been talked about keeping rain off mirrors and possibly side windows.

Made a start on the Mack.
The first thing that had to go was that great big ugly bull-bar. Found a fellow who had an old Western Star bumper that was about the right size. Just about outsmarted myself as it took 5 hours with an angle grinder cutting and shaping the headlight and tow pin holes. But I do think it looks a lot better.
Beaver tail tray is next job.
As it Was.

Very nice job Lang. Look forward to see how you do your beavertail and ramps.
Lorry has what is now illegal cut chassis to form the beavertail and if I ever let it pass out of current NSW rego it would require an engineers report to be registered again. Something that Lorry has is what we call "long legs" (ramps to normal people). This si something that makes loading so easy and by being overloaded by the previuos owner the ramps were bent downwards so I reversed tham and this put a slight rise in the middle of the ramps and makes for easy loading.

Swishy
That is exactly what I want but a tilt tray costs three times as much as the truck.
Cobba
The Mack looks like a dog with its tail cut off at the moment and no chassis or tray to play with to convert so whole new tray required. I have my eye on one at a wrecker in Brisbane. I do not like Beaver tails but my super long ramps are getting too heavy for me. I have to go down the road to use a neighbour's loading ramp but often it is inconvenient when you get to a show and whatever is on the back stays there.
The beaver tail is OK for my military vehicles but my FIAT Spider and any low vehicle will belly going over the hump. Would love a tilt tray.
